Wood Research and Development is a specialized consulting firm focused on the engineering of timber bridges and structures, both new construction and restoration. We are best known for our expertise in restoring historic wood bridges and buildings, as well as designing and engineering complex new timber structures such as arches and trusses.
We are seeking a Structural AutoCAD technician. You will be working with a team of Structural Engineers to preserve wood bridges and buildings throughout North America.
Education
College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of drafting experience in structural design; experience with bridges and infrastructure is a strong asset
- High proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit
- Experience collaborating with engineers on construction planning, and modifying design and shop drawings
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
- Valid driver’s license required; occasional site inspections of bridges and buildings may be necessary
