Frank Lloyd Wright's "Wingspread"

Racine, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

A specially-designed structural member termed "Zebrawood", composed of epoxy coated layers of wood veneers and carbon quadraxial fabric (fibers oriented in four directions), was used as a major structural component in the rehabilitation project on the historic Frank Lloyd Wright creation.  The design was performed in a partnership between the engineers of Wood Research & Development (WRD) and Robert Gilman Associates, Inc.
