The BLAHA Building is a two- and three-story structure with 1,700 m2 footprint, using 73 m3 of glulam beams (56 m3 of for curved elements). The roof main girders were made of 10 FiRP® Glulam beams 20cm x 100cm x 26m, BSH 14 (wood grade), with 2 layers of ARP (aramid based reinforcement).
It took 11 truck loads to bring all the wood structural and covering elements on site. The montage was completed within 15 days.
The building was erected in 2001. The architect & Engineering firm was RW-Tragwerksplannung from Vienna, Austria. The glulam producer was Buchacher Holzleimbau GmbH, Hermagor, Austria.
