FiRP® Reinforced Products with a New Adhesive

Shear & Cyclic Delamination Performance of
FiRP® Reinforced Products with a New Adhesive

WRD has experience in testing new glues with conventional glulam beams and FiRP® Reinforced products.

The shear and cyclic delamination tests were performed to determine the strength and durability of the reinforcement-to-reinforcement, reinforcement-to-wood, and wood-to-wood adhesive bonds.

The wood species used for these tests was Douglas Fir; the glue was a phenol-resorcinol-formaldehyde (PRF) adhesive type (resin + hardener).  The adhesive spread rate and the clamping torque were monitored.
